Sam Duffy is an artist-printer whose work blends traditional craft with meditations on trans embodiment. Raised in the Bay Area and educated in English at UC Berkeley, their experience with letterpress began as an undergraduate, where they produced their first edition as a collaborative classroom project. Since then, Sam has worked with the CODEX Foundation first as an intern and later as a collaborator with Peter Koch's The Real Lead Saloon.
Their most recent project, Fragments of Spring, features original poetry printed letterpress alongside photopolymer plates exploring trans identity as an element of nature. Debuting at the Berkeley Public Library in April 2025, the chapbook responds to a climate of escalating anti-trans violence through a celebration of hope. Sam's next project will be produced at In Cahoots during a residency in 2026.
