Sam Duffy is a letterpress printer, poet, and maker of artist books whose work blends traditional craft with trans poetics. Raised in the Bay Area and educated in English at UC Berkeley, their letterpress education began as an undergraduate, where they produced their first edition as a collaborative classroom project. Since then, Sam has worked with the CODEX Foundation as both an intern and a collaborator with Peter Koch's Real Lead Saloon.
Their most recent project, Fragments of Spring, uses traditional craft and seasonal imagery to explore trans embodiment and poetic credibility. Debuting at the Berkeley Public Library in April 2025, the project responds to a climate of escalating anti-trans violence through a celebration of hope. Sam's current work continues their exploration of trans survival through craft and form.
